AT-KABUL: The Taliban insurgents have warned hundreds of villages in Deh Yak district of the restive Ghazni province to leave their homes.
Residents of Rabat Sangi village said the militant group has blocked all roads leading to the village which multiplied their problems and put their life at risk.
The deputy provincial governor Muhammad Ali Ahmadi confirmed that the Taliban had threatened the villagers.
He said the insurgents asked the villagers to remove check-posts of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) from Rabat Sangi.
“When the villagers denied removing the security posts, the Taliban distributed letters, warning the villagers to leave the area,” he said.
The deputy governor said the insurgents have planted landmines on a route leading to the village from Ghazni city. He said that villagers were using another route.
While assuring of improved security, he said the road would be cleared of landmines in the next few days.
