KABUL: In the wake of ongoing air and ground operations, the Afghan security forces on Sunday have killed Taliban’s deputy shadow governor for Kushenda district of northern Balkh province and his four associates.
209 Shaheen military corps said that the Afghan security forces conducted crackdowns against Taliban militants in support by air forces in Kushenda district, in which Taliban shadow district chief Habibullah, known as Khanjari was killed along with his four fighters.
Hazhda Gardana, Tap-e-Antan, Acha Mili, Kushenda Paien, Kushenda Bala villages of the district was also cleared from presence of the Taliban insurgents, the corps said in a statement.
The Afghan security forces also discovered and confiscated large number of weapons belonging to the Taliban.
