AT-KABUL: Operatives of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested the Taliban’s shadow chief for Qarghaee district of eastern Laghman province.
A press statement issued by the NDS said that their operatives arrested Maulvi Esmail Alias Abddullah, the Taliban’s shadow district chief for Qarghaee, along with one of his comrades, named Ghairat in Nangarhar province.
The statement said that Maulvi Esmail was involved subversive activities in the district, including planting landmines and assassination of influential figures.
A footage released by the NDS shows Esmail admitting his links with the Taliban militants. He confessed that he joined the Taliban around seven areas ago.
