AT-KABUL: In an attempt to boost up cultural ties between Afghanistan and Iran and bring the people of the two countries closer, the fifth meeting of Afghan and Iranian literati would be held in Tehran this month, said media reports on Monday.
The director of Afghanistan Literature House in Tehran, Mohammad Sarwar Rajaii, said the meeting is held two times a year.
He said the biennial meeting aims to conduct mutual conversations as per numerous cultural similarities between the two neighboring countries.
“We also plan to honor Afghan composer and poet Arif Jafari for his achievements over past two decades,” he added.
The Afghanistan Literature House will hold the meeting in collaboration with Iran’s Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization.
