AT-KABUL: At least 32 Taliban fighters were killed and 44 others wounded in different operations in the past 24 hours, security officials said Tuesday.
“The Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with the Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted operations against Taliban insurgents in different areas of Khost, Paktia, Paktika, Ghazni, Baghlan, Kunduz and Farah provinces,”the ministry of defense said in a statement.
“In these operations, 32 rebels were killed and 44 others were injured.”
The statement added that two Taliban fighters were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiries, according to the statement.
The statement said that unfortunately, nine army soldiers were martyred during the operations as the result of the enemy firing.
“The national army also discovered and confiscated a large number of weapons and ammunition during the operations in the insurgents’ havens in different provinces,” mentioned the statement.
