AT-KABUL: A terror bid has been thwarted during a search operation by security forces in western Heart province, a statement issued by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Saturday.
The search operation was conducted in 15th district of Herat City, the NDS said, adding that an explosive-laden rickshaw was recovered by security forces during the operation.
The source said a suspect was arrested on charges of carrying the explosives. The suspect planned to detonate the explosive-laden rickshaw in Shaidai City Bazaar, which is a crowded place during days. The NDS personnel succeeded to foil the attack and prevent killing of innocent people.
