AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives foiled a suicide bombing plot in Kabul city.
The NDS said in a statement on Saturday that a would-be suicide bomber was arrested along with another terror suspect in connection to the attack plot by the Afghan intelligence operatives.
The source said the suspects were appointed by Haqqani Network to carry out an attack in the city.
The source added that the would-be bomber was identified as Abdul Rahman while another suspect was identified as Abdul Rahim who was tasked to coordinate the attack.
Abdul Rahim has confessed that they were appointed by Haqqani Network commander Sabrullah Zadran to carry out the suicide attack in Kabul, the NDS added.
The source also said that Abdul Rahman had confessed that he was involved in other suicide attacks in Kabul.
No militant group including the Taliban has commented regarding the report so far.
