AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Tuesday that it had foiled possible attacks against the parliamentarian, arresting two people hired for the plot.
The detained militants have confessed that killing of the Law Maker of the Lower House of Parliament in Kabul was plotted by the militant Taliban’s leader and an operative of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan.
A statement by the NDS said the two terrorists have been identified as Abdul Wahid son of Syed Hussain and Salahuddin son of Syed Ali.
The statement added that the men have also confessed that they were paid on money to carry out an attack on a lawmaker of the Wolesi Jirga.
Further details have not made public regarding the member of the parliament on whom the militants were supposed to carry out the attack.
The NDS furthered that the Taliban militants are commonly receiving instructions from the outsiders to assassinate the political and influential leaders in the country.
However, NDS added majority of such cases have been defused and suspects have been arrested before they manage to execute their plans.
