AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Over 20,000 families have been benefitted from Jawzjan welfare projects. The projects including, education, transportation schemes and water supply have been executed in the province, said an official on Monday.
According to the officials the projects include graveling of over 100 kilometers of roads, construction of 75 bridges, seven irrigation dams, a health clinic, two schools and six building for local councils.
Director of rural rehabilitation and development Eng. Mohammad Yousuf Saeed told Pajhwok Afghan News that the digging of 60 wells was also the part of the projects. He said that two water supply schemes have been completed which are benefitting numerous villages.
He furthered that 47 welfare projects have been executed in Khanqah, Khwaja Do Koh, Darzab, Qush Tepa, Aqcha, Khamab and Mangjik districts, including the capital of Jawzjan.
He said the National Solidarity Program (NSP) have assisted the projects with Afs84 million with 10 percent contribution from locals.
Nooruddin, a native of Gharji village on the suburbs of Shibeghan district, said that the road construction which linked the area to the provincial and Khwaja do Koh district played a very important role in easing transportation.
The transport fare from the district to the provincial capital had dropped from Afs100 to 30, he added.
Mohammad Nazar, a resident of Ogam village of Khanqah district, said they were benefiting from a deep well which provides clean water for the residents. The deep well cut all the water diseases, he added.
