AT-KABUL: A bomb blast in northern Kunduz province has left three Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel, including their commander, injured, official sources said on Friday.
Providing details about the blast which took place the other day, the governor’s spokesman, Abdul Wasi Basil, told media that a magnet bomb was attached to a vehicle of ALP in Madrasa-i-Khyaban area. The area is on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Kunduz city.
According to the spokesman, the ALP commander for Chardara district was among the injured. The injured ALP personnel were rushed to a hospital. Two policemen remain in critical condition.
Chardara district of the province was considered stronghold of the Taliban militants from where they launched attack on Kunduz city in late-September.
At least 21 people were killed when the Taliban stormed the capital city of the province. The Taliban captured parts of the city. Afghan Special Forces had retaken control of Kunduz city from the Taliban on October 1.
