AT-KABUL: Three suicide bombers, including a Pakistani national have been arrested by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives, before able to conduct terrorist attacks in eastern Jalalabad, the capital city of Nangarhar province.
The provincial government media office in a statement, said the suicide bombers were on their way to carry out a suicide attack in the city with the help of a vehicle, loaded of improvised explosive materials. The statement added the terrorists were detained during an operation carried out by the NDS operatives in premises of the 3rd police district in Jalalabad.
According to the provincial government the arrested terrorists have been identified as Abdullah, a resident of Kandahar, Syed Abrar, a resident of Laghman, and Nasibullah, a resident of Quetta city.
The terrorist group was planted to use a Toyota Corolla type vehicle to carry out a coordinated suicide attack, as per direction of the terror groups based on the other side of the Durand Line, the provincial government said.
However, the anti-government armed insurgent groups have not commented into the report so far.
This comes at a time when security forces have earlier foiled a plot by the terrorists to carry out a deadly bomb blast inside a mosque in Jalalabad city.
According to the provincial government media office the security forces had defused two mortar rounds that were placed inside the mosque which is located in the 3rd police district of the city.
