KABUL: At least three Taliban commanders along with their six associates have been killed and 12 others received injures in preemptive raids conducted by the Afghan security forces within past 24 hours in northern Faryab and Balkh provinces, security officials said Monday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said that the Special Forces Unit in cooperation with the Result Support conducted night raids in Qaisar and Pashton Koot district of Faryab, in which nine militants were killed and ten others wounded.
Mullah Mohammad, Taliban’s financial manager for Faryab, Mullah Habibullah, Taliban’s key commander, and Mullah Abdullah inspector of the night vision of the group, were among killed militants, the statement added.
Meanwhile, two insurgents were killed and two others wounded during fight with the Afghan security forces in Balkh province, the statement added.
