AT-KABUL: A key commander for the Taliban fighters was killed in a clash with security forces in the southeastern province of Ghazni, ministry of interior said Tuesday.
It added in a statement that a group of Taliban insurgents attacked police checkpoint in the Panah localities of the province late Monday.
“A key Taliban commander along with his four accompanies were killed and six other wounded during the clash,” the statement said.
Ghazni is among insecure provinces in eastern of the country, where armed militants are actively operating.
Separately, two terrorists were arrested in operation launched by security forces in eastern Laghman province, security officials said.
A statement issued by ministry of interior said the terrorists were identified as Hazrat Khalil S/O Sharif Khan and Rafihuallah.
It added they were tasked by Hussian Ahmad to conduct terrorist’s activities in different area of province.
