KABUL: Some Afghan traders blamed the Pakistani government for making hurdles on the Chaman-Boldak transit route.
The traders called on the related authorities to find an immediate solution for the problems existed alongside the crossing points of the so-called Durand Line.
They say that they would stop their businesses if their problems remain unsolved on the route.
Haji Abdul Rahim, a trader that Pakistan opens the gates for a very short period with many restrictions, he said, adding that the neighboring country allows import and exports, but disallows transit of goods.
Another trader, Abdul Rahim said that the exports and imports have seen a significant reduction. According to him, on Sunday, at least 22 containers entered from Pakistan to Afghanistan while 48 empty containers were exported to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the governor of southern Kandahar province, Haji Mohammad Yusuf Wafa confirmed the problems laid ahead of the Afghan traders, saying that the issues is seriously being followed to find a solution. According to Wafa, he shared the problem with the Pakistani officials.
