By Akhtar M. Nikzad-KABUL: The Mishrano Jirga or Upper House of Parliament on Sunday said that Warsaw Summit ensured future of the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces. They said that the financial cooperation should be spent transparently for strengthening and equipping of security forces.
Senators term the decision of Warsaw Summit to support Afghan security forces as a great achievement. However, they called on the National Unity Government to translate their pledges made in the Warsaw Summit into action.
“Warsaw Summit was a great achievement for security forces,” first deputy speaker Farhad Sakhi said.
He said that the government should give practical shape in its commitments to fight corruption, maintain human rights, bring electoral reforms and restore security in the country.
In the Warsaw Summit in capital of Poland, leaders of NATO vowed to provide around five billion dollars for Afghan security forces by end of 2020 and they would equip the Afghan security forces as well.
Member of NATO asked leaders of the national unity government to spend the financial cooperation through a clear mechanism to its security forces.
Senators on Sunday session stressed over suppressing of terrorists in Pakistan soil and asked NATO and USA to take practical measure for elimination of terrorist in Pakistan territory.
“We want to tell USA that instead of oil and money please change war strategy against terrorists and please put pressure over Pakistan,” said Senator Zalmai Zabuli.
