AT-KABUL: Tribal elders from the eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Laghman complained over night raids carried out by the Afghan and foreign forces.
In a meeting at the leader of Hezb-e-Islami leader, Gubuddin Hekmatyar’s residence in Kabul, tens of tribal elders said that Afghan and forces had been carrying out night raids in the Garoch area of Laghman and Khogyani district of Nangarhar for several days, killing and forcing locals to leave their houses.
They said that government leaders were involved in their insider differences , so foreign and Afghan troops carry out attacks without permission.
They added that they had shared their problems many times with President Ghani, but he paid no attention. So, they wanted Hekmatyar to help them solve their problems as they were disappointed from the government.
Hekmatyar condemned the night raids, calling them barbaric and similar to attacks by the Daesh terrorist group. He said the government was as weak as it could not ensure security of the capital and around the presidential palace.
The recent night raids carried out by the Afghan and foreign forces, caused heavy casualties and forced people to leave their villages.
