AT-KABUL: The provincial president of the Awami National Party (ANP) Afrasiab Khattak said that the report about the death of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Mullah Fazlullah is part of a campaign in Pakistan to externalize terrorist problem.
Pakistani media claimed that Fazlullah was killed in a US drone strike in eastern Afghanistan. However, the report of his death could not be confirmed. Citing Gulf News, the Pakistani media reported that at least five people, including the TTP leader along a woman said to be his wife and his son, were killed in the drone strike.
Umar Mansoor, leader of the TTP Geedar group, claimed responsibility for the attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda. At least 30 people, mostly students and teachers, were killed and several other were injured.
Khattak, who is prominent analyst and president of ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chapter, said that false report about death of Fazlullah in a drone strike in Nangarhar was part of a campaign in Pakistan to externalizing the terrorist problem, although, which is an internal issue.
Commenting on the Afrasiab’s statement, a well-known KP-based researcher Khadim Hussain said that the continued existence on externalization seems to indicate that the Pakistan does not wish to change its narratives.
A few days ago, hundreds of people staged demonstrations in different cities of KP and England asking Islamabad to take action against all terrorist groups. They said that once “good Taliban” have become now “bad Taliban” which means Pashtuns in Pakhtunkhwa are under attack of Pakistani terrorists.
