Kabul: Turkish Airlines has announced that it will resume flights to Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif from March.
According to an announcement on the “Turkish Airlines” website, the first bookable flight of this airline to Kabul is on March 27, and the first bookable service from Kabul is on the 26th of March.
Turkish Airlines has been flying to Afghanistan for more than a decade, the first flight of this airline to Kabul was in July 2011, and until the spread of the Covid and then political shifts in Afghanistan, flights were made continuously.
After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021, foreign flights to Afghanistan were stopped, but in the past year, flights between Afghanistan and a number of countries including Iran, Pakistan, UAE, Russia and Qatar have resumed.
Meanwhile, the interim Taliban government signed a contract with an Emirati company to control and inspect passengers at Afghanistan’s international airports a few months ago.
