KABUL: Kabul police have arrested two persons on the charge of assaulting doctors at a COVID-19 care center.
Doctors and other medical staff were attacked by the beleaguered relative of a patient, who passed away recently due to coronavirus in a hospital in PD 6th of Kabul city, the Ministry of Interior said on Monday.
Some medical equipment of the hospital was also destroyed, the ministry said in a statement.
The police have warned of immediate and hard-hitting actions against anyone threatening doctors and other medical workers, the statement added.
This is as the positive cases of coronavirus and deaths are surging on a daily basis, the health ministry warned of dire consequences if the Afghans did not follow health instructions such as wearing masks in public, observing social distancing, avoid huge gatherings, and other necessary health measures.
