AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Unidentified gunmen have abducted two de-miners along with their truck in Mohammad Agha district of central Logar province, an official said on Sunday.
Chief of Mohammad Agha district, Capt. Matiullah Abdur Rahimzai, said that unknown gunmen attacked Sterling Global demining company office on Saturday night and took two de-miners with them and their Kamaz truck.
“No casualty was reported during the attack by unidentified gunmen. Efforts are underway to find the abductees in cooperation with local elders,” he told Pajhwok Afghan News, a local news agency.
Ahmad Zubair, a resident of Kandahari village, said that there were no guards to protect the demining team when it came under attack. He added that, though it was a large office but had no guards for its protection. No group has commented on the incident so far.
It is worth mentioning that previously demining officer had been abducted in Logar, but later released with the help of local elders.
