AT-KABUL: Two militants of the Lashkar-e-Islami, a terrorist group mostly active around the Khyber agency, Pakistan’s federally administered tribal area were arrested during an operation in eastern Nangarhar province, security officials said Sunday.
In a statement the provincial police said the two suspects were arrested in the Achin district where the loyalists of Daesh terrorist group and other insurgents are operating.
“The suspects have been identified as Jan Mohammad and Jinad and are originally residents of Khyber agency in Pakistan,” the statement said.
It added the two suspects had visited Nangarhar to conduct terrorist activities.
Recently, the Taliban insurgents and Daesh terrorists have increased activities in some remote districts of the province.
The Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament, Zahir Qadir warned earlier this month that the loyalists of Daesh terrorist group would establish the Khurasan Caliphate if they managed to seize Tora Bora locality of Nangarhar province.
