AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Two police vehicles and five shops were destroyed in a bomb blast in central Logar province, an official said.
The deputy police chief Col. Qari Mohammad Wara told media that the incident occurred before noon the other day in Khezar bazaar, targeting a convoy of the Afghanistan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP).
He said the magnet bomb was fitted to an oil tanker. However, no casualty was reported. No group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, in another incident five policemen were killed in Paktia province on Saturday afternoon when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Zurmat district.
The deputy provincial police chief Gen. Mohammad Zaman said on Sunday that the officers were on their way from Zumrat to Gardez, the provincial capital, in a private vehicle when they came under the attack.
Taliban insurgents have escalated their attacks on Afghan soldiers and police in recent months. Roadside bombing and suicide attacks have been intensified by the militant group. Afghan security forces are now solely in charge of the public safety across the country after the US and NATO forces formally ended their combat mission in 2014.
