AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Afghans security forces during a military operation captured two important centers of the Taliban insurgents in Almar district in northern Faryab province, official said on Tuesday.
“Two Taliban facilities were held in Turbat and Badghis areas in the district during the operation,” Mohammad Saleh Saleh, Almar district chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He added that the Taliban militants used the captured centers as a private jail where they tortured their captives. “The insurgents fled the areas without any resistance against the Afghan forces,” he said.
The Taliban took the intimates with them, Saleh said, however he added that the two areas that currently cleared of the insurgents were under the Taliban control from the past two years. He said that 800 families were living in the area.
One militant was killed and another sustained injuries during operation, a security official who wished not to be named said.
It is worth mentioning that local officials a week ago said that the Afghan security forces retaken military center which the Taliban insurgents held for three years. The Taliban militants yet comment about the incident.
