Kabul: The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says there is an urgent need for action as millions of people in Afghanistan face food insecurity.
United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) wrote on its Twitter account on Wednesday when people ask about the early warning system for famine in Afghanistan, everyone should pay attention to the 6 million people experiencing emergency levels of food insecurity, and we must not wait to act.
OCHA also warned that about 28.3 million people in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid this year.
The United Nations has asked for 4.6 billion dollars in aid to deal with the needy people in Afghanistan.
