KABUL: US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and the Pakistani Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday afternoon held a telephonic conversation, where they discussed Afghan peace process.
The two sides exchanged views on the current situation in the
region, and bilateral issues, said Pakistani Foreign Ministry in a statement.
Both sides agreed that de-escalation was important for peace and stability in
South Asia.
This comes as US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad is expected to visit Pakistan regarding the peace process in Afghanistan.
