Kabul: According to the Uzbekistan Daily newspaper the Uzbek border forces have proposed to the president of the country, Shaukat Mirziyoyev, to use drones to monitor the common border with Afghanistan.
The report adds that this proposal was presented to Shaukat Mirziyayev during his visit to the training base of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan in “Tirmaz” on the border with Afghanistan.
During the visit to “Sarkhan Darya” area on the common border with Afghanistan, the Uzbek border forces have emphasized the importance of using drones to monitor the country’s borders.
The president of Uzbekistan evaluated the abilities of their forces to use drones while patrolling the border areas between the two countries.
The idea of using drones to monitor the border areas with Afghanistan by Uzbek security forces comes amid fears of security threats from terrorist organizations and their entry to Uzbekistan.
