KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned mine explosions and rockets attacks in the provinces of Wardak and Ghazni, in which a number of civilians were killed and wounded.
Karzai expressed concerns over the increasing violence and civilian casualties. “Continuation of war and military operations does not resolve any problems in Afghanistan, but this is the continuation of aliens’ plots who want to weaken the peace efforts,” he said in a statement issued on Sunday.
The former president called on the conflict sides to stop bloodshed, take care of the Afghans’ lives and properties and accelerate efforts for peace negotiations.
He wished paradise for the dead and patience for their families.
