AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: Acting defense minister Masoom Stanikzai in a visit to Kunduz province on Friday, said that Afghanistan is facing an imposed war.
He added that the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces would not remain silent against the conspiracies of enemies of the country. Stanikza was accompanied by high ranking officials, including interior minister Taj Mohammad Jahid.
Hinting to the Kunduz attack, Stanikza lauded the bravery of the Afghan security forces and their efforts in rebuffing Taliban’s attack on the province.
According to provincial security officials, Taliban militants received huge casualties in fighting with Afghan security forces.
The visit of the security officials to the province took place days after the Taliban insurgents attacked six districts of the province under their spring offensive “Operation Omari”. Last year, Kunduz province fell to the Taliban for a few days.
