KABUL: The United States’ new special representative for Afghanistan, Tom West, has begun his tour to Europe and Asia to discuss Afghanistan with international partners.
“I will be traveling to Europe and Asia starting today to discuss the way forward on Afghanistan with Allies and partners. The international community must act together to be effective,” he said.
Before his trip, West met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
According to Blinken, West will make his first visit to Brussels.
“The first stop on his travel will be Brussels, where he will consult with Allies and partners,” Blinken said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Ambassador von Brandt, head of the EU delegation to Afghanistan, said he is looking forward to meeting West in Brussels over Afghanistan.
