KABUL: The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission expressed concerns over civilians’ casualties, saying that civilians’ killing should be stop.
The commission said in a statement that it had always called on the Taliban to halt planting the roadside bombs that often inflict casualties on civilian.
The commission released the statement in reaction to the roadside bomb blasts that claimed the lives of more than ten civilians including children and women. The government officials earlier put the number of death to 13 people. But the commission said that “in two incidents in Helmand and Ghor ten children, three women and three men were killed and five children wounded”.
The ministry of defense has said in a statement that a vehicle loading passengers hit a roadside mine in PD 7 of Lashkargah, the capital city of Helmand. According to the statement, nine civilians lost their lives in the incident.
“The civilians’ casualties are increasing day by day in Helmand,” said, Barakatullah, Sarshar, head of the Pawand Civic Organization.
A roadside bomb blast in the western province of Ghor killed four members of a family including, the parents and two children.
