KABUL: A top Indian government official has warned the Taliban leaders that they will suppress any Taliban threat towards them with airstrikes.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said that both Afghanistan and Pakistan are disgruntled by the Taliban.
He said that India is much more powerful than before and that no country can threaten it.
It is still unclear what has triggered such a harsh response from a senior Indian official and member of the ruling BJP.
This is as India’s special representative to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban in Moscow on October 20. The Taliban had promised Indian side that no threat will be posed to India by the Taliban.
The Taliban have repeatedly assured the regional countries of no harm from Afghanistan, insisting that they will not interfere in internal affairs of other countries.
