AT-KABUL: Operatives of National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrested a man in northern Takhar province, who was allegedly supplying weapons to the Taliban militants.
A press statement issued by the NDS here on Monday said that operatives of the spy agency through an operation in Takhar province arrested a supplier of weapons to the Taliban.
The arrested man, identified as Merajuddin, during primary investigation confessed that he received $20,000 from the Taliban’s shadow district chief for Yangi Qala district of the province to supply weapons to the insurgent group.
The NDS operatives also arrested a militant who was in charge of collecting usher and zakat for the Taliban in Khwaja Ghar district of the same province.
