AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: In the midst of political rivalries and ensuing intense economic ramifications in Afghanistan, the United States has applauded India’s mass contributions in the development of the country.
The Pentagon spokesperson told journalists in Washington on Friday that India had been very supportive, and they’ve pledged additional developmental aid in Afghanistan. They’ve been willing to help with aviation maintenance.
Commenting on Pakistan, the spokesperson said, the US new South Asia strategy has provided Pakistan with an opportunity to sincerely cooperate with the US in its efforts for stabilizing Afghanistan. A stable and peaceful Afghanistan is possible when terror havens on Pakistan’s soil were eliminated and its project of terrorism abandoned.
“Pakistan has an opportunity to do more with respect to regional security. It’s an opportunity and we would welcome Pakistan’s involvement. It’s in everyone’s interest to defeat terrorism,” the spokesperson was quoted by ANI as saying.
The people and government of Afghanistan always appreciated India for its drastic efforts in rebuilding the war-hit country. New Delhi has been helping Afghanistan in several areas, including educating our youths by providing scholarships. It also helps us in military fields, as large number of Afghan army and police are currently under military training in India. However, our neighbor, Pakistan is still to shun its project of sponsoring terrorism.
