AT-KABUL: In an attempt to honor the sacrifices rendered by Afghan security forces, a number of women donated their blood to the soldiers injured in fight against militants.
Women’s Political Participation Committee initiated the blood donation campaign in Kabul and pledged to extend it to other provinces. Alema, head of the committee said that the campaign was aimed at expressing women’s support for security forces. “Through this move we want to tell our troops that they are not alone,” she added. She called on all Afghans to donate their blood and safe lives of wounded soldiers.
Gul Makai Siawash, a blood donor, said that she came to donate her blood to Afghan soldiers. She called on Afghans to lend their support to security forces through donation of blood. She said that blood donation should turn into a culture.
