Kabul: A delegation of Muslim clerics, who has visited Afghanistan, on Tuesday called for ensuring the right to education for every Muslim and emphasized the need for girls’ access to education in Afghanistan.
According to them, education is the right of all Muslims, and Afghan girls should also be allowed to be educated.
Muslim scholars from Egypt, Sudan, Libya and Palestine who recently came to Kabul after meeting with the leaders of the caretaker government, said in a press conference in Kabul than Taliban is not against girls’ education in general.
The head of the delegation, Sheikh Mohammad Saghir, said “We had meetings with all leaders of the Islamic Emirate. In these meetings, we discussed the issue of education. The minister of higher education has pledged not to deprive all Afghan men and women of education.”
These scholars also asked the United States of America to release the country’s assets to solve Afghanistan’s economic challenges.
